Interlife Toolkit

A new revolutionary model

The Interlife Toolkits are comprehensive programmes which include equipment, raw materials, vocational training and all that is needed to start a business, to support oneself and one’s family and to trigger a process of solidarity within one’s community.

The toolkit supplies:

  • Training
  • Equipment
  • Training
  • Professional competencies – (in crop growing, animal farming, handicrafts, marketing, etc.)
  • Know-how and
  • All that is needed to start a business.

They provide know how, equipment, raw materials, vocational training and all that is required to start a business/micro-enterprise, to support underprivileged people and their families, and trigger a knock-on solidarity process within their community.

Interlife Toolkits are innovative and human centred programmes designed by Interlife  to support and empower needy people in extremely poor contexts.

The Interlife model is a highly scalable and replicable system for the startup and development of innovative income-generating activities and the strengthening of local economies and social cohesiveness.

Our Toolkits, tailored on people’s needs and their potential, and on local uniqueness, are fast and effective solutions to challenge poverty and bring food and financial safety.
Our Toolkit is a concrete solution to illegal migration from Africa with all the dramatic consequences everyone can see.
Our Toolkits trigger a virtuous circle of solidarity within local communities, this allows to reduce initial costs and doubles the number of beneficiaries.
Interlife Toolkit

The innovative factor

Once the micro-enterprise is started, the beneficiaries commit themselves to creating a new Toolkit with the products and revenues derived from their business and to donate it to another needy person: the Interlife Toolkit replicates itself generating new opportunities for the most underprivileged. Therefore, the number of beneficiaries grows exponentially!

the IMPACT OF THE TOOLKIT

The Interlife Toolkits are an innovative tool for food safety, local growth and starting new businesses. They generate income that can create lasting and sustainable social and economic value beyond the end of the project.

Some data:

  • Increase in the meals per day from 1 to 3
  • 100% of the children from the families that received the Toolkit go to school now.
  • 108,8% increase income after the Toolkit activity

economic

Certified on the field studies on the projects adopting the Interlife Toolkit method have shown that this model has an important and strong impact on the food and financial safety of the beneficiaries.

social

In the areas where Interlife operates, financial figures and social standards are constantly growing and the impact in terms of schooling, female empowerment, entrepreneurial dynamism and social cohesion is evident.

environmental

The Toolkit model is a completely sustainable green model. Each Toolkit is designed not only according to the needs of the beneficiaries and the local markets, but, first and foremost, to promote the conservation of the environment and the natural resources.

institutional

All Interlife projects aim to create a long-lasting and sustainable change over time with the active collaboration and commitment of the beneficiaries, the civil society and the institutions together on a path of growth and well-being for the entire community.

Growing social and economic value

– Food Production sufficient to cover household dietary requirements throughout the year
– Possibility for 90% of the beneficiaries to supplement the family’s nutrition needs by purchasing more foodstuffs
– Increase in the number of per day meals from 1 meal to 3 for 84% of the beneficiaries.

100% of the children from the families that have received and used an Interlife Toolkit go to school now. Many of them are now able to access higher education and University.

We register a 70% revenue increase in the first year of Toolkit activity.

The Interlife Toolkit model allows beneficiaries to be resilient during times of crisis, such as COVID19 or market crisis.

67% of the beneficiaries declare that after having used the Toolkit they have reinvested their own income to expand and improve their business.

Interlife Toolkit

The steps of the project

Interlife marks, for all Toolkit beneficiaries, the beginning of a real personal growth process, provides know how, support and all the tools needed to exit poverty and hardship, to make the best decisions and take action for themselves and their community.
Through our local partners and social workers on the field, we accompany the beneficiaries on a journey of shared and truly sustainable development, empowering people to become changemakers and build a safe and better life, and a fairer future for everybody.

This path is divided in the following main steps:

Men and women who receive an Interlife Toolkit have an extremely poor standard of life and aren’t part of the workforce. Moreover, they are often victims of usury and live in conditions of semi-slavery.

The first step is to participate in a vocational training course with the following content:
• specific training on the Toolkit;
• training on management and marketing;
• visits to other business or model crop/livestock farms, for “on the field” demonstrations of good management, production and business practices.

At the end of the course, the participants are followed by experts and by our local staff to start their own business.

Each beneficiary will receive the support of other beneficiaries involved in the very same income generating activities or in similar ones. We encourage our beneficiaries to form small groups. Moreover, we promote peer to peer learning, mutual support and the creation of real cooperatives, which can increase the chances of success of each business and have a strong impact within the community.

The beneficiaries, relieved from the initial condition of poverty, become independent micro-entrepreneurs, with a regular income now sufficient to support their family. Once they have their own business, with the assistance of Interlife, they will have to “wrap up” a new Toolkit they will donate to another needy person. Therefore, they will trigger a new virtuous circle of development.

Why adopt an Interlife Toolkit Model?

  • Socio-economic participatory model
  • It creates financial, entrepreneurial and social value
  • It is suitable to different contexts and fields of intervention
  • It is designed to be self-replicable and self-sustainable
  • It engages and empowers beneficiaries
  • It grows exponentially and its cost decreases progressively
  • Entrepreneurial Approach
  • Promotes local economies
  • Transparent and traceable
  • Generates a virtuous circle of development and welfare
  • It can foster improvement with full payback, effective in inverting the trend of unemployment, poverty and malnutrition
